My Choice Matters works with people with disability and their families to live life their way and get the most out of the changing disability system. Our goal is to help you learn and practice new ways of doing things and develop and grow your skills in Choice, Voice and Control. We believe it is important that you have these three qualities in your life! Exercising choice and control will not only require new skills and new knowledge, but will also require new thinking and confidence.

Importantly, My Choice Matters is:

  • Based on what people say they want
  • Inclusive
  • Responsive
  • Driving change in thinking
  • Transparent and accountable
  • Active

Central to My Choice Matters’ approach is people sharing their experiences, learning from each other and working together to open up new ways of thinking and new possibilities.

You can read the My Choice Matters Strategic Framework: PDF here or Text Only version here. This plan was developed in 2012 when My Choice Matters was first established as a two year project. Since then My Choice Matters was extended until June 2016 initially and has now been extended until June 2018.

My Choice Matters has been evaluated throughout the project so that we can learn as we go. Below are links to the evaluation reports so far, with two more reports to come.
